It’s a theory. It’s probably wrong, but makes just as much sense as The Bible.
This is how I think religion started.
Back when people first starting emerging into the world, people were basically stupid. They didn’t have technology, science, anything. All they could basically do is have sex. So the elders in the town got together and tried to get these people to behave right, but nothing was working. So after many failed attempts, they came up with this idea of God. They told everyone there’s this guy named God. He made everything, you can’t see him, but he’s watching you. Everywhere you go, everything you do, everyone you fuck, he’s watching. And if you fuck up, he’ll fuck you up (if you ever read the Old Testament, that’s really how God was. He was a dick). The people were like OH SHIT, so they believed it. The elders loved that these people weren’t fuckung up anymore, they kept on going. They eventually wrote the Bible, and told them everyone must follow this book because it’s God’s word, and he wants you to. So they did.
Still to this very day, people read this book. We are not hethans. We have real explinations, theories, etc. We do not need this book anymore.
If this offended you, unfollow me if you want.
I agree that probably something along these lines happened.
Wrong. All wrong. Have you ever read a book on the subject? Nope. Clearly not.
The earliest religions were not monotheistic. Humans 10,000 years ago were just as intelligent as us, but they lacked knowledge. Religion has it’s origin in Animism and nature worship. Initially we anthropomorphized these wonders of nature into things that were familiar with us. Then they took on a life of their own.
YHWY, the Abrahamic god you’re probably referencing, is a tribal God and was a ‘local’ deity for the nomadic Hebrews. He was not the first God figure in recorded history. Not even close. Hell, the Vedic pantheon was already huge by the time anyone thought of YHWY, and also the Sumerian and Babylonian gods. Lets not forget the early religions of The Americas and Europe which span back well over ten thousand years.
Thankfully I don’t follow him but if I did I would immediately stop just because of his crappy spelling (hethans, explinations - Good God Almighty!)
