A Brit Abroad

My name is Terry and I'm a 50 something year old dis-enchanted ex-pat Brit living in Cyprus. Why am I dis-enchanted? You'll find reasons enough throughout my tumble log, along with quirky items that amused me and things I think need highlighting, and occasional quotes from some of my favourite novels. Oh, and maybe some original work of my own.

I’m not going criticize this, for the simple reason that currently Britain has a huge lead on the US in stem cell research and the longer the religionist luddites hold out the bigger the lead will become. The result of that lead will be major medical advancements and hopefully cures for currently incurable conditions.
It will then be interesting to see how many of those currently blocking the research on moral or religious grounds are willing to turn their backs of the benefits when their own need arises.

My bet would be very few.
