I agree with you when it comes to government intrusion, like:
Bankrupting our country to fight a war against a country that didn’t pose a threat to us, resulting in 100,000 Iraqi civilians killed, 4520 coalition troop deaths, 4209 of them Americans.
Taking away our civil liberties through the so-called “Patriot” act.
Using our tax dollars to hire Blackwater contract assasination squads.
Ratcheting up our national debt through a Republican led congress to the tune of 2.3 trillion dollars.
Leaving New Orleans to resemble a third world country because of the deplorable response by our government.
Legalization of torture, etc…etc…
Sound familiar?
I don’t exactly remember you or Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post, the Fox Newspaper, complaining when ‘this country’s bedrock values of personal liberty and limited government’ were trampled on over the last eight years.
Probably because it was about liberal or conservative, Democratic and Republican then, just as it is now.
So, please, forgive me if I find your complaints a bit hollow, and your claims that it isn’t partisan laughable.
A Brit Abroad
My name is Terry and I'm a 50 something year old dis-enchanted ex-pat Brit living in Cyprus. Why am I dis-enchanted? You'll find reasons enough throughout my tumble log, along with quirky items that amused me and things I think need highlighting, and occasional quotes from some of my favourite novels. Oh, and maybe some original work of my own.

This isn't about liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican. A majority oppose Obama's policies because they fly in the face of this country's bedrock values of personal liberty and limited government.
