Israel bans Arab parties from running in upcoming elections

Surely this shows a lack of commitment to the sacred cow of democracy by several of the Israeli parties? It will be interesting therefore to see how the US responds to this. Can the US government continue to support a foreign power which so blatantly denies democratic rights to it’s citizens based on ethnicity, whilst at the same time pledge to bring democracy to the Middle East?
