The problem with the nay-sayers is that they’re gambling the lives of every person on the planet. Are they saying that it’s OK to contaminate, pollute and generally destroy the environment? Is it OK to tip toxic waste into our oceans and land fills? Are birth defects an acceptable price to pay for “progress”? How many of them would scream blue murder if a toxic waste dump was positioned outside their town? How many would move if a foul smelling factory was built at the end of their street?
If those of us who believe action is needed are wrong then what’s the outcome? Extra costs and a cleaner environment, that’s what. But these people are gambling the lives of every person on this planet for a little extra return on their dollar. Doesn’t seem like a difficult choice to me.
