Stop for a moment and imagine what will happen if (when) the existence of alien life is confirmed. It doesn’t have to be intelligent life, any form of life will do. The entire Judean/Christian/Islamic religious movement will collapse and it won’t go quietly. Genesis suddenly becomes meaningless, creationists have to accept the unacceptable, and even worse, if it does turn out to be intelligent, the Religious Right suddenly find a new enemy. For centuries we’ve been told how God created Man in his own image so what happens if the aliens don’t look like us?
There would be chaos - I can’t wait, bring it on!
